Sol Ruca’s match status uncertain for Clash in Italy

In April, Ruca was called up to WWE’s main roster when she debuted on Raw. While the promotion seemed logical given the California native’s meteoric rise up the ranks of NXT, some members of the internet wrestling community questioned whether she was ready for the big time. One of the more frequent complaints about Ruca is how she’s had some trouble successfully executing her Sol Snatcher finishing move. Despite doubters on social media, Ruca has won over many WWE fans, and her good fortunes continued when she captured the Intercontinental title from Becky Lynch at Clash in Italy on Sunday (May 31). Following the victory, she spoke with Sam Roberts and Megan Morant on WWE Now. During the interview, Roberts noted that since Sol’s move to the main roster, “there are a lot of people that are kind of watching your every move, ready to pounce on anything that might go even slightly wrong,” and that “it feels like the level of hyper criticism has gone up.” He then asked: “Is that something that you have to kind of actively just push out to make sure you have a performance like you did tonight? “Yeah, 100%. Even in NXT, we get people that are watching every move, and we get people that are leaving hate comments and all this negativity. Essentially, being up on the main roster, you have more eyes, which means more hate, but also means more love. “So it is something that I’ve had to kind of navigate, because it wasn’t something that I thought of when I got signed, that it was going to be like, ‘Oh, this means that there’s going to be more eyes or more people trying to nitpick everything.’” Ruca added: “But at the end of the day, especially with people on social media – that’s such a small percentage of our fan base – and as long as the crowd in-person is happy and, everyone backstage is happy with what I do, then that’s fine with me.” What do you think, Cagesiders? That finish came after Sol Ruca landed awkwardly after attempting her finisher on Lynch this past weekend, and led to a disqualification win for the recent NXT call-up. Sol Ruca certainly appears to be a can’t miss prospect for WWE after her run in its developmental program down in NXT was successful, where she got over a unique finish, the Sol Snatcher, even with its issues. When the time came, she made an immediate impact on the main roster, entering into a program with one of the top women’s stars of all time, Becky Lynch. It’s been a bit rocky with a few missed spots and a strange match at Saturday Night’s Main Event but they were given a big spot at Clash in Italy today (Sun., May 31, 2026) in Turin in a battle for the Intercontinental championship. Ruca is finding her footing more and more all the time. Of course, the match wasn’t just about Ruca trying to win the title but Becky’s ongoing feud with Jessika Carr, with arguing, shoving, and generally far too much attention paid to it if they aren’t going to actually pay this off with a match. In the end, it didn’t play a part in the finish, at least. That finish was Ruca finally hitting a clean Sol Snatcher and scoring the three count off it. The crowd responded positively to it.
