Drake football loses season opener to South Dakota Mines, 38-35

Drake football fell to South Dakota Mines 38-35 on August 27 at Drake Stadium. Despite scoring three touchdowns in the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs couldn't secure a win in their season opener. Drake's offense combined for nearly 1,100 yards, with quarterback Riley Warzynski setting a school record with 535 passing yards. Receiver Willis Nofsinger contributed 168 receiving yards, while linebacker J.R. Flood recorded a career-best 18 tackles. The Bulldogs will face Montana next on September 5.
