Drake Maye, Kayshon Boutte shine on Day 1 of Patriots training camp

The New England Patriots held their first training camp practice on July 25, 2026, featuring several standout players. Quarterback Drake Maye demonstrated his growth in Josh McDaniels' offense, making impressive throws, including a deep pass to Kayshon Boutte. Boutte, amidst trade rumors, made a notable diving catch. Defensive back Christian Gonzalez participated actively, quelling concerns about a potential holdout while seeking a contract extension. Rookie edge rusher Bradyn Swinson capitalized on increased playing time due to injuries, while veteran Dre'Mont Jones also showed promise on the edge. The team continues preparations for the upcoming season under head coach Mike Vrabel.
