Drew Gonzalez has officially signed a professional contract with the New York Yankees after being selected in the sixth round of the 2026 MLB Draft. The El Paso High School standout was the 189th overall pick in the draft held on July 12. Gonzalez, who graduated in June, excelled at Americas High School, earning All-City MVP honors and contributing 13 home runs and 54 RBIs in his final season. He is currently in Tampa, Florida, at the team's training facility to commence his professional career, which he aims to turn into a future in Major League Baseball. Had he not signed, he would have attended Texas Tech University to play collegiate baseball.
