Summary

Drew McIntyre, during a recent interview promoting his role in Agent of Shadows, revealed he pitched to WWE Chairman Vince McMahon the idea of using his sword to chop off someone's arm at WrestleMania. McIntyre expressed his frustration over never being able to use the sword, named Angela, in a way fans expected since he first debuted it as WWE Champion. What they're saying
"

Drew McIntyre used to carry around a giant sword named Angela back when he was the WWE champion circa 2020 / 2021. He would occasionally threaten his rivals with it, but never go through with actually using it on them. You know, sort of like how Dean Ambrose pulled out a chainsaw in his match against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 32 but was never going to slice The Beast with it. McIntyre loved that sword and agreed with fans who thought there should be a payoff to carrying it around all the time. In an interview this week with Chris Van Vliet where he promoted his role in Agent of Shadows, McIntyre revealed his pitch to Vince McMahon to chop off someone’s arm with the sword at a WrestleMania. “You know how I had that sword for years, and everyone was like, ‘Is Drew ever gonna use the sword?’ And I didn’t? …I stuck it in the ring, and I stuck it in [Adam] Pearce’s table. But finally, I pitched to the big man himself. I [said] hey, you know Saving Private Ryan? And Vince had never seen Saving Private Ryan. He didn’t know what I was talking about, but also I speak fast when I’m excited. Half the time he’s like, ‘Uh, yeah. Yeah, sure Drew.’ I was like [in] Saving Private Ryan, they use actors, like amputees, etc. They lop off the limbs they’re actually missing. Very realistic. I think at ‘Mania or something, we should have a fight sequence. We end up backstage, then we hit the pre-tape where I swing the sword at somebody. Whoosh! Arm comes off. Finally, I use the sword. Pay it off, it’s bothering me. I’m a stickler for details, that’s why I use social media the way I use it, to tie stories together if I don’t think they’re tied together enough…And I’ve had this sword for so long, I have stab someone. And finally, all those years later, Agent of Shadows, Drew McIntyre is gonna go shanking. I’m stabbing some people. Yes, the Drew McIntyre guarantee. Get your eyes on it, I finally use the sword.” Vince was probably much more familiar with Shaving Ryan’s Privates starring Val Venis. Anyway, just because we still haven’t seen Drew chop off some limbs with his sword in WWE doesn’t mean it can’t happen one day. Are you disappointed that McMahon didn’t approve McIntyre’s pitch to finally use his sword for its obvious purpose at WrestleMania? Let me know in the comments below, Cagesiders.
