Dublin Scioto's football team is set to compete in Division I, following a decision by the OHSAA on June 22 to revise the 2026 region and division alignments. This shift marks a return to Division I for Scioto, which last played in that division in 2012. As a part of this transition, the Irish will now be placed in Region 2. Alongside Scioto, another seven schools will also ascend to Division I, expanding the number of teams from 72 to 80. This change is influenced by expected growth in the Dublin City Schools district and a desire to raise competition levels. Scioto's new journey in Division I is anticipated to begin with the upcoming fall football season.
