Dumfries ahead of Alexander-Arnold in Real Madrid right-back competition

Summary

Jose Mourinho has indicated Denzel Dumfries may take precedence over Trent Alexander-Arnold for the starting right-back position at Real Madrid. During pre-season matches, Dumfries has impressed the manager, leading to a shift in expectations for the two players. Dumfries started at right-back in successive games against Ferencváros and Deportivo, while Alexander-Arnold came off the bench in both instances. The coach appears to be testing different roles for the players rather than viewing them as direct replacements for one another.
