Dundee United players aim for victory while Jim Goodwin remains sidelined

Summary

Dundee United winger Mehdi Merghem stated the team intends to win for manager Jim Goodwin during his absence. Goodwin missed the club's 4-0 victory over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park due to a health issue and will not be in the dugout for the upcoming midweek match against Motherwell. The win at Kilmarnock marked Dundee United's first Premiership victory of the season and snapped a winless streak that included three prior defeats. Merghem noted the squad, which features many new players, is focusing on building confidence and cohesion through continued training. He emphasized that the group remains committed to their tactical plan as they prepare for the next fixture away from home. While players expressed hope for Goodwin’s return, the immediate priority remains securing results in his absence.
