Dustin Smith resigns as Clarksville Academy baseball coach

Dustin Smith has stepped down as head coach of the Clarksville Academy Cougars after seven seasons. Under his leadership, the team achieved a record of 147 wins and secured three TSSAA baseball region championships. He was named the Leaf-Chronicle Coach of the Year in 2025, leading the team to a 30-12 record and a runner-up finish in the state. This season, the Cougars struggled with an 11-19 record and were eliminated in the first round of the DII-A Middle Region tournament. Smith is set to take a similar coaching position at Christian County High School, which will open in the fall following a school consolidation.
