Dustin Tokarski retires after sixteen seasons in professional hockey

Goaltender Dustin Tokarski announced his retirement on Friday at age 36. Tokarski played 86 regular-season NHL games for the Tampa Bay Lightning, Montreal Canadiens, Anaheim Ducks, Buffalo Sabres, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Carolina Hurricanes. He finished his NHL tenure with a 27-36-12 record, a 3.08 goals-against average, and a.902 save percentage. He is well-known for stepping in for the Canadiens during the 2014 playoffs after an injury to Carey Price, where he earned two postseason wins. Beyond the NHL, he had a distinguished career in the AHL, recording 208 wins and two Calder Cup titles. Tokarski will transition into a new role as a goaltending scout for the Carolina Hurricanes organization.
