On the opening day of the Duleep Trophy, North Zone was dismissed for 251 runs with Ayush Badoni and Anshul Kamboj both scoring 60 runs. West Zone's Tanush Kotian and Tushar Deshpande shined with four wickets each. Meanwhile, East Zone took control against Northeast Zone, finishing the day at 355 for 6 with Sudip Gharami scoring 146 runs and Shahbaz Ahmed not out at 100. West Zone concluded the day at 31 for 2, trailing by 220 runs.
