East Zone reaches Duleep Trophy final after defeating Central Zone

East Zone secured a four-wicket victory over Central Zone in their Duleep Trophy semifinal at the BCCI CoE in Bengaluru. Chasing a target of 159, East Zone reached the total with a day to spare behind Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s 40 runs and an unbeaten 39 from Ishan Kishan. The victory followed a strong bowling performance from Mukesh Kumar, who took four wickets, and Mohammed Shami, who claimed three to bowl out Central Zone in their second innings. This is the second consecutive match East Zone has concluded within three days. Meanwhile, the second semifinal between North Zone and South Zone remains in progress. North Zone currently holds a 139-run lead with three wickets remaining at the end of the penultimate day. South Zone finished their first innings at 312, bolstered by an unbeaten 116 from Tilak Varma.
