Edwin Diaz placed on injured list with neck inflammation

Los Angeles Dodgers closer Edwin Diaz has been placed on the injured list due to neck inflammation following a poor performance against the Colorado Rockies. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts indicated that Diaz's struggles had reached a tipping point after allowing three runs during that game. Roberts expressed confidence that Diaz would return this season but noted the seriousness of the injury is still being evaluated. A full scan will be conducted when Diaz arrives in Los Angeles, and further examination will be performed by Dr. Robert Watkins. Prior to the IL placement, Diaz had a 15.88 ERA in August.
