Eintracht Frankfurt tactical switch leads to victory against Mainz 05

Summary

Adi Hütter secured his first Bundesliga victory of the season after adjusting Eintracht Frankfurt's formation to a three-man defensive line. The shift followed a 4-1 loss to Augsburg and resulted in a 3-1 win over Mainz 05. Jeremiaha Maluze, Robin Koch, and Lilian Brassier anchored the defense, while Jonathan Burkardt operated as the lone striker. The tactical reorganization required leaving Younes Ebnoutalib out of the starting XI to accommodate the additional central defender. Additionally, Noël Aséko made his league debut, and Mario Götze contributed as a substitute by setting up a goal for Can Uzun, who finished with two in the match.
