Ela Letton-Jones secures silver for Wales in Glasgow

Ela Letton-Jones won the first medal for Team Wales at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, claiming silver in the women's S13 100m freestyle event on July 24, 2026. The 19-year-old finished in 1:04.30, finishing behind Australia's Jenna Jones, who won with a time of 1:03.89. Letton-Jones had qualified second fastest in the morning session, managing the pressure of being Wales' first medal hope. Her success in Glasgow follows her prior silver at the World Para-swimming championships in 2025, as she aims for the 2028 Paralympics in Los Angeles. She is set to compete in the 50m freestyle next week.
