Elena Ritchey commits to Youngstown State University for softball

Berlin Brothersvalley senior Elena Ritchey announced her verbal commitment to continue her education and softball career at Youngstown State University on August 20. Ritchey chose Youngstown State for its strong academics and facilities, expressing gratitude for the opportunity after missing prior Division I offers due to an arm injury. She enjoyed a standout junior season, batting.544 with 53 RBIs, and tallied a 15-1 record on the mound with a 1.89 ERA. Ritchey highlighted her recent experience with the Indiana Magic Gold National team, which helped her gain exposure to earn this scholarship. This commitment comes after securing multiple accolades, including being named the Somerset all-county MVP.
