Eli Tomac announces retirement plans after 2026 SuperMotocross World Championship season

Motocross and Supercross racer Eli Tomac announced his retirement from professional competition at the conclusion of the 2026 SuperMotocross World Championship post-season. A veteran of 17 professional seasons, Tomac currently ranks second all-time with 57 career 450SX Main Event victories. The Cortez, Colorado native earned four AMA Pro Motocross 450MX titles and two AMA Supercross 450SX championships throughout his career. Tomac is currently competing for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, where he secured four 450SX Main Event wins this year. He plans to remain with the team through the upcoming SMX Playoffs, which end with the championship final in Ridgedale, Missouri on September 26. Tomac stated that the decision was the most difficult of his career.
