Elton Brand will not return as 76ers general manager

Elton Brand has decided not to continue as the general manager of the Philadelphia 76ers, as announced on June 7, 2026. Brand, respected within the organization, will remain with the franchise in a different role, noted to be working through a transition with Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment. He opted not to interview for the position of President after the departure of Daryl Morey and has been actively involved in the team's draft preparations. The front office will be evaluating options for Brand's successor in the GM role.
