Emar'rion Winston provides veteran defensive line depth for Arizona State

Defensive lineman Emar'rion Winston joined the Arizona State football program this season, offering veteran leadership to a position group undergoing significant roster changes. The 6-foot-3, 265-pound transfer arrives in Tempe after previous collegiate stints at Oregon and Baylor. His arrival follows the departure of several experienced ends including Elijah O'Neal, Prince Dorbah, and Justin Wodtly. Winston contributed to a 70-7 victory over Morgan State in the Sun Devils' regular-season opener on September 5. He expects to complete his sociology degree at the university in December while helping coach the program's younger defensive linemen. Arizona State continues its season with a scheduled matchup against No. 10 Texas A&M at Kyle Field on September 12.
