Rutgers women’s basketball secured its first commitment for the 2027 recruiting class with the addition of Emily Forrester. A 6-foot-3 forward from Saint James Academy in Virginia, Forrester announced her decision on Friday after taking an official visit to the campus last weekend. She chose the Scarlet Knights program over offers from Tulsa, Marquette, and Missouri. ESPN scouts assign Forrester a four-star rating and a scout grade of 92, identifying her as the 77th-ranked player nationally. This recruitment marks the first class assembled by head coach Gary Redus II since his appointment at the university. Forrester previously competed for Team Durant during the EYBL Circuit earlier this summer.
