Emmet Sheehan earns PCL pitcher honors as Dodgers consider rotation return

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Emmet Sheehan earned the Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Month award for August after a dominant stretch in Triple-A. The 26-year-old right-hander recorded a 1.50 ERA and a 0.94 WHIP across four starts, leading the league in multiple statistical categories. Sheehan was demoted to the minors in August following the team's acquisition of Tarik Skubal. His recent performance includes allowing only one earned run over 17.1 innings in his three most recent outings. With several Dodgers starters currently on the injured list, including Eric Lauer, Roki Sasaki, and Gavin Stone, Sheehan is a candidate to rejoin the major league rotation. He could potentially return to the Dodgers' roster as soon as the upcoming weekend series against the Washington Nationals.
