Emmie Belquist excels in track events at state championships

Track & FieldEmmie Belquist, a junior from New Rockford-Sheyenne, competed successfully at the 2026 NDHSAA State Track and Field Championships in Bismarck. She placed second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.41 seconds and won the 300-meter hurdles with a personal record of 44.17 seconds. Belquist also secured sixth place in the 200-meter dash, achieving a personal best of 25.86 seconds. Additionally, her relay team won the 4-by-400 meter event, breaking their school record by six seconds. Belquist aims to surpass the records set by her older sister, Kelsie, who was a standout athlete at the same school.
