England reached 299-6 at lunch on the second day of the third Test against Pakistan at Edgbaston. Resuming the day on 156-4, England extended their lead as Harry Brook and Dan Lawrence accelerated the scoring. Brook contributed 75 runs before he was dismissed via run out, while Lawrence made 65 before Mohammad Imran claimed his wicket. Jamie Smith remained unbeaten on 47 at the break. Pakistan, already trailing 2-0 in the series, struggled to contain the hosts after posting 133 all out in their first innings.
