England recalls Ollie Pope and Dan Lawrence for Pakistan Tests

Ollie Pope and Dan Lawrence have been recalled to England's squad for the first two Tests against Pakistan. The series opener is scheduled for Wednesday, 19 August at Headingley. This selection comes following the retirement of Ben Stokes as captain and the dismissal of head coach Brendon McCullum. Joe Root will captain the team, with Marcus Trescothick acting as interim head coach. Dan Lawrence, currently performing well in the County Championship, and Pope, who missed recent selections, have both been included to bolster the squad. Jacob Bethell will miss the series due to injury, leading to Jordan Cox's promotion to number three in the batting order.
