Enric Mas increased his lead in the general classification of the Spanish Vuelta during Thursday's 12th stage. The Movistar rider finished ahead of Primož Roglič after attacking on the final 10-kilometer climb to the summit of Calar Alto. Mas now holds a 1-minute, 45-second advantage over his closest rival, a four-time winner of the event. Jakob Omrzel secured the stage victory in four hours and 29 minutes after breaking away from the rest of the field. The race continues Friday with a 192-kilometer hilly route from Almuñécar to Loja. This year's edition of the event remains in southern Spain and concludes in Granada on September 13.
