Enzo Fernández completes transfer from Chelsea to Manchester City

Manchester City finalized the permanent transfer of Enzo Fernández from Chelsea on Tuesday, Sept. 1. Reports value the deal at approximately $168 million. The 25-year-old midfielder, who appeared in 170 matches for Chelsea after joining the club in 2022, officially joined the Etihad squad following manager Enzo Maresca. Fernández addressed his departure in an Instagram post, acknowledging the emotional difficulty of leaving the club where he celebrated winning the 2024-25 UEFA Conference League and the 2025 Club World Cup. He sat out his final two matches for Chelsea as the transfer window closed. Manchester City also added forward Iliman Ndiaye from Everton during the same window.
