Eric Simons is set to join the England Test side as bowling coach, with the appointment expected to be announced on Monday. Simons, a former head coach of South Africa and ally of Stephen Fleming, will support Fleming in his first series in charge against South Africa in December. England has reorganized its coaching structure, now splitting head-coaching duties between Fleming and Brendon McCullum. The England setup also anticipates the return of fast-bowling consultants in future series while Kevin Pietersen is appointed batting consultant for the white-ball teams ahead of the 50-over World Cup. Further confirmations regarding Marcus Trescothick's involvement with the Test team are still pending.
- •Simons previously coached South Africa and collaborated with Fleming in the IPL.
- •England's coaching staff restructuring includes more specialized roles.
- •Saker and others will support the team in the upcoming tri-series.
- •Pietersen will join the white-ball squad for the Australia and South Africa tours.
- •The future of interim coach Trescothick remains uncertain.
