Matthew Schaefer, supporting his junior team, the Erie Otters, announced their second overall pick at the OHL Priority Draft. The Otters chose forward Colin Kennedy. Schaefer, who was drafted first overall by Erie in 2023, is in his first NHL offseason after being selected by the New York Islanders. Former Islander John Tavares also participated, helping the Oshawa Generals announce their first overall pick, Kane Cloutier.
