ESPN analyst suggests Detroit Lions should trade for Maxx Crosby
Summary

On August 7, 2026, ESPN analyst Mike Tannebaum proposed a trade for defensive end Maxx Crosby to strengthen the Detroit Lions' defense. The Lions struggled last season, finishing last in the NFC North amid ongoing injury issues. Tannebaum suggested pairing Crosby with Aidan Hutchinson to enhance the Lions' pass rush, addressing longstanding defensive deficiencies. While trading for Crosby could be beneficial, Tannebaum noted it's an idea that has been floated before, with skepticism regarding its feasibility. The Lions will need their offense to perform at a high level to compensate for defensive challenges in the upcoming season.
