The list also featured Coco Gauff, who advanced to the semifinals after defeating Mirra Andreeva at Arthur Ashe Stadium. This broadcasting error drew criticism from viewers on social media. Neither Venus Williams nor Serena Williams advanced past the early rounds in their respective US Open events, with the pair also exiting the women’s doubles tournament in the opening round following a loss to Maya Joint and Chan Hao-ching. Neither player has publicly commented on their future scheduling for the remainder of the 2026 WTA Tour.
