ESPN ranks Alabama football team No. 16 in preseason power rankings

The Alabama Crimson Tide will enter the 2026 season ranked No. 16 in ESPN's preseason college football power rankings, according to Mark Schlabach. This ranking places Alabama as the seventh-highest team from the SEC. The team, led by head coach Kalen DeBoer, had an 11-4 overall record last season and reached the CFP quarterfinals. With a new starting quarterback, sophomore Keelon Russell, Alabama begins the season at home against East Carolina on Sept. 5.
