Ethan Salas joins Triple-A El Paso from Double-A San Antonio

Catcher Ethan Salas, ranked as the San Diego Padres' top prospect, has been promoted to Triple-A El Paso. At just 20 years old, he becomes the youngest player on the El Paso Chihuahuas and in the league. Salas, who demonstrated solid performance with a.286 average and 37 RBI in Double-A, missed most of the 2025 season due to injury but has regained form recently. His promotion follows a stint in which he excelled after returning from an oblique injury. This move is expected to boost his development as he aims for a future MLB role. RHP Jeremiah Estrada has also been activated from the injured list after a successful rehab assignment, while RHP Matt Waldron was designated for assignment.
