Ethan Weinberg, a freshman at the University of West Florida, is tied for the lead at the 80th Florida Open with a score of 6-under 66. The opening round took place at the Longboat Key Club in Sarasota on July 17. Weinberg achieved this with two eagles and closed his last five holes at 4-under. Professionals Chase Haygood and Patrick Ross are also at 6-under, while Jonathan Yaun trails by one stroke. Players will switch courses for the second round on July 18, with the final round set for July 19 at the Harbourside Course.
