Everton loan goalkeeper Douglass Lukjanciks to Southport for senior experience

Everton have confirmed an agreement to send 18-year-old goalkeeper Douglass Lukjanciks on a temporary loan to Southport. The move allows the teenager to gain senior football experience in the National League North, providing a challenge beyond the club’s academy setup. Lukjanciks previously signed a professional contract with Everton in October 2024 and made 25 appearances for the club's Under-21 and Under-18 teams last season. His development at Goodison Park remains secondary to senior keepers Jordan Pickford, Mark Travers, and Tom King. Academy staff identified the need for a more demanding environment to improve his decision-making and physical resilience against senior-level opponents. Southport, who have previously hosted players like George Pickford, will serve as the venue for his continued development.
