Everton pursued Sacha Boey before signing Ainsley Maitland-Niles

Everton held negotiations with Bayern Munich to sign defender Sacha Boey during the recent transfer window. Despite Bayern Munich signaling that Boey was permitted to leave, Everton ultimately chose to acquire Ainsley Maitland-Niles from Lille. With the German transfer window now closed, Boey remains in the Bayern Munich squad.
