Everton must move their Carabao Cup third-round match against Wolves due to a scheduling conflict at Anfield. The fixture was originally set for Wednesday, 9 September, but required a change after UEFA confirmed Liverpool would host Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on that same night. Merseyside Police prohibit both Everton and Liverpool from playing home matches on the same evening. The EFL requested a date change for the European tie, but UEFA declined, forcing the shift. Consequently, the Everton match against Wolves moves to 16 September, while Liverpool’s tie against Tottenham shifts forward to 15 September. A further consequence includes the postponement of the Wolves Championship match against Portsmouth, which is now set for 20 October. The EFL issued an apology for the late scheduling adjustments.
