Experienced senior class leads combined Grand Forks KnightRiders swim team

SwimmingThe Grand Forks KnightRiders swim team enters the season with a roster of 21 athletes, led by a core group of seniors. Gabby Tack, Sasha Poltavski, Rainy Bancroft, and Kaidence Grimaud anchor the combined program, which draws students from Red River, Central, and East Grand Forks Senior High. Coach Bryan Walls manages the team during a period of reduced participation following the 2017 discontinuation of the University of North Dakota swimming program. The KnightRiders currently train at Central and await the 2027 opening of the Altru Sports Complex following the closure of Hyslop Sports Center. Three seniors are actively pursuing opportunities to continue their swimming careers at the collegiate level, with Grimaud already committed to Nebraska Wesleyan. The team remains focused on achieving a top-six finish at the state meet this season.

He told Tack's father, Dave, that Gabby seemed to really enjoy being in the pool and suggested she stick with it. That coach was right.
