Falcons announce joint practices, preseason game schedule with Colts

The Atlanta Falcons will host joint practices with the Indianapolis Colts on August 19 and 20, ahead of their preseason game on August 22. Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed that starters will not play in Week 2 of the preseason but will participate in the joint practices. Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. will engage in 7-on-7 drills despite not being cleared for contact. Stefanski has not yet named a starting quarterback for the preseason game, where either undrafted free agent Jack Strand or veteran Cooper Rush will likely take the role.
