Falcons place JD Bertrand on injured reserve and add Josh Woods

The Atlanta Falcons placed linebacker JD Bertrand on the reserve/injured list on Monday evening. To fill the vacancy on the 53-man roster, the team signed veteran linebacker Josh Woods off of the practice squad. Woods, who spent the last two seasons with the organization, previously contributed primarily on special teams. He has appeared in 82 career games, registering 137 tackles, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. The transaction leaves the Falcons with two open spots on their practice squad as the team continues to manage its roster heading into the season. The organization could potentially fill one of those practice squad vacancies with Zach Harrison should he clear waivers.
