Falcons sign linebacker Josh Woods and part ways with Ross Blacklock

The Atlanta Falcons have signed linebacker Josh Woods, bringing him back to the team after his previous stints in 2023 and 2024. Woods has played 17 games over the past two seasons for the Falcons, primarily contributing to special teams, where he participated in 82% of snaps last season. His addition follows the release of veteran defensive lineman Ross Blacklock. As training camp approaches, Woods will compete for a special teams role alongside JD Bertrand and Channing Tindall, with the team expected to make additional roster adjustments in the coming weeks.
