In Fort Greene, Brooklyn, a large screen showed playoff games as fans gathered on the streets and rooftops yesterday. Children enjoyed ice cream outside Sugar Hill Creamery in Harlem while watching games projected on poster boards. Barbershops, laundromats, and various venues across the city filled with supporters ahead of tip-off. Approximately 100 fans congregated around a vehicle displaying a 50-inch screen for viewing in Carroll Gardens. A unique effort allowed inmates at Rikers Island with good behavior to watch the games.
