Fennville changes opponent for Never Forgotten Game to Gobles

Fennville will host Gobles instead of Saugatuck in the upcoming Never Forgotten Game, honoring the late Wes Leonard. This decision ends a decade-long tradition of the matchup with Saugatuck, which approached Fennville as a valued rival. Superintendent Albert Lombard emphasized the game’s significance in honoring Leonard, while interim AD Rick Frens highlighted an opportunity to involve more schools in supporting the Wes Leonard Heart Foundation. Saugatuck officials expressed disappointment over the change, stating they were surprised by the decision.
