Fernando Alonso plans Dakar Rally return with Aston Martin in 2027

Fernando Alonso is set to return to the Dakar Rally in January 2027, competing in an Aston Martin. This follows his previous appearance in 2020, where he finished thirteenth with a Toyota. Alonso will team up again with Marc Coma as co-driver. While Aston Martin has not developed a new car for the event, they will modify a T1+ car from Prodrive for the competition. Alonso has extended his contract with Aston Martin in Formula 1 through 2027 and indicated interest in ventures outside of F1.
