Ferrari confirms engine upgrades for Hamilton and Leclerc at Italian Grand Prix

Ferrari will introduce an updated power unit for Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc at the Italian Grand Prix this weekend in Monza. The team confirmed the change as part of a development opportunity granted by the FIA to manufacturers currently trailing in internal combustion engine performance. This marks the second engine upgrade Ferrari has utilized this season, following a previous iteration introduced in Austria this past June. Because of this switch, both drivers will move to their fourth power unit of the season, which is the limit before incurring grid penalties under current regulations. Team principal Frederic Vasseur stated the update represents a step forward as the team seeks marginal gains during a tightly contested season. The upgraded engines will be available starting with the first practice sessions on Friday.
