FIFA allows Argentina to serve player bans in friendly matches

FIFA has approved the Argentine Football Association's request for player bans resulting from the World Cup Final misconduct to be served in friendly matches. Leandro Paredes faces a 10-game ban, while teammates Nahuel Molina and Thiago Almada received shorter suspensions. Previously, the bans were limited to competitive matches, delaying their enforcement until the 2028 Copa América. Having no scheduled competitive matches, Argentina could utilize friendly matches for these suspensions. The Argentine FA is still pursuing further reductions in the length of these bans.
