Fight breaks out during Panthers' first padded practice of training camp

A fight occurred during the Carolina Panthers' first padded practice of training camp on July 28, 2026. Head coach Dave Canales described the practice as sub-standard and emphasized the need for his players to drive their physicality. The altercation involved tight end Feleipe Franks and cornerback Mike Jackson during seven-on-seven drills. Canales acknowledged that while intensity is part of the game, players must maintain control to avoid penalties that could hinder the team. As the training camp progresses, the team will continue to focus on refining their play and discipline.
