Fiorentina fires manager Fabio Grosso after winless start to Serie A season

ACF Fiorentina fired head coach Fabio Grosso on September 5 following a winless start to the Serie A season. The club lost all three of its opening matches, conceding nine goals while scoring only once. A 2-1 defeat against Torino at Stadio Artemio Franchi served as the final result leading to the coaching change. Management is currently searching for a replacement to lead the squad for the remainder of the season. Reports suggest Thiago Motta is near an agreement to take over the role. Although the club previously considered a return for former coaches Paolo Vanoli or Raffaele Palladino, those options appear less likely. Motta has been without a managerial position since his departure from Juventus in March 2025.
