First college football rankings to be revealed on August 4

The preseason US LBM Coaches poll for college football will be unveiled live on YouTube by USA TODAY Sports on August 4 at noon ET. This marks the beginning of the 2026 season, with defending national champion Indiana among the contenders for the top spot. Other teams expected to be in the mix include Ohio State, Oregon, Georgia, and Texas. Following this initial ranking, the US LBM Coaches poll will be released every Sunday during the season after the first regular-season poll on September 8. The 2026 college football season kicks off on August 29, with North Carolina facing TCU in Dublin, Ireland.
