Fitchburg unveils memorial for NASCAR legend Ron Bouchard

Fitchburg honored local NASCAR driver Ron Bouchard with a new bronze memorial in Coolidge Park on June 28, 2026. Bouchard, a native of Fitchburg, was recognized for his achievements, including the 1981 NASCAR Winston Cup Rookie of the Year title and a notable victory at Talladega. His contributions to the sport were remembered, along with his strong connection to the community, where he returned after retiring from racing to run several auto stores. Bouchard passed away in 2015, but his legacy continues through the Ron Bouchard Racing Charity and the RB Racing Museum, which showcases racing memorabilia and draws visitors from around the country.
