Florian Lipowitz leads German cycling team at Road World Championships

Florian Lipowitz will lead the German men’s road race team at the Road World Championships in Montreal on September 27. The 25-year-old cyclist returns to competition following a collarbone fracture sustained at the Tour de France earlier this summer. He made his racing comeback Wednesday at a one-day event in Tuscany. The six-man German squad for the road race also features Maximilian Schachmann, Marco Brenner, Georg Zimmermann, Felix Engelhardt, and Nico Denz. Additionally, the German Cycling federation confirmed rosters for the individual time trial and mixed relay, though Nils Politt will not participate due to team commitments. A separate German women’s team including Franziska Koch, Ricarda Bauernfeind, Liane Lippert, and Antonia Niedermaier will compete in Canada with support from Linda Riedmann.
